Jane Goodall Institute Nepal

Specifically, we seek to:

• Improve understanding of conservation and importance of diverse species through research, public education and advocacy

• Contribute to the preservation and restoration of natural habitats by combining conservation with education and promotion of sustainable livelihoods in Nepalese local communities

• Create a network of young people who have learned to care deeply for their human community, for all animals and for the environment, and who will take responsible action to care for them

In 2006, JGI’s presence entered Nepal through its Roots and Shoots program as a means for motivated youth to implement their passions for conservation, which stemmed from inspiring works originating in 2002.

Established in 2012, the Jane Goodall Institute of Nepal continues to follow the mission of R&S as a nonprofit conserving endangered species, protecting habitats, and natural resources in the biologically rich and diverse land of Nepal.
